2014 Fantasy Football Rankings: RB Projections, Standard scoring

All signs point to a major break out season. The Bears offense will sit comfortably amongst the top scoring squads. Forte will be the cog in the middle that makes it run. He averaged 5 YPC & 20+ carries in 4 of his last 5 games in 2013.

McCoy finished the season on fire - going over 200 rushing yards in one contest and topping 130 yards in two others. McCoy is a fantasy stud - capable of leading the league in scoring.

Charles is in the conversation for the #1 overall selection in most fantasy drafts. He is a strong fit in Andy Reid's system and is Alex Smith's favorite check down target. He is a fantasy stud capable of a huge game in any week.

Foster is a stud when healthy. O'Brien's offense will feature him in the passing and rushing attack. Health will be Foster's bugbear. He has carried a heavy load so far in a short career. If rested, he should have a few quality years remaining.

Bell brings low end RB1 value to the table. He surprised many in his rookie season by reeling in 45 receptions. Look for growth in his numbers in 2014. He has the ability to be a true feature RB.

Lacy was expected to be a hammer for the Packers - and did an amazing job. For fantasy owners, he also contributed 2+ catches per game which gave him PPR appeal. He is an RB1.

Murray enjoyed something of a breakout season in 2013. He finished with 9 TDs and broke the 1,000 yard barrier for the first time in his career. He represents strong RB2 value and RB1 in deeper formats.

Lynch is a volume back. He has had two straight seasons of 300 carries or more. He is a safe bet for double digit touchdowns as well - having accomplished that feat in three straight years. SEA will look to lighten his load a bit to keep him fresh.

Giovani Bernard was billed as a "Ray Rice Clone" coming out of college. He has done nothing to disappoint. He is active in the passing game which gives him great PPR value. He should see 13 to 15 hand offs per game which will increase his rushing total

The Patriots passing attack can turn a pass catching RB into a fantasy stud quickly. Much is expected in Boston from Vereen. He has excellent hands and flexes out as a receiving option frequently. Expect RB2 numbers with RB1 upside.

Adrian Peterson is an All-World talent - but his opportunities will be weakened by a subpar offense...plain and simple. Peterson can not be asked to carry the mail 300 times again this season.

Doug Martin is the forgotten man in many fantasy draft rooms. He is just a year removed from being a Top 5 selection in most formats. He is healthy and ready for the season. The new coaching staff will rotate RBs but there is plenty of value here.
