Patriots continue to shuffle WRs
The spot opposite of Brandon Lloyd has been a revolving door for New England this season. That shuffle will continue this week. Stallworth’s season will be ended and it appears that New England will resign Deion Branch.
The New England Patriots placed veteran wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday, one day after he caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tom Brady in the team’s 42-14 win over the Houston Texans.

The Patriots need to draft a player that can hold down this position. A tall, rangy deep threat to keep defenses from crowding the middle of the field would make the top scoring offense even more dangerous. The Pats have had great luck drafting impact players for nearly every other position over the past four years - but they have struck out when trying to find an outside WR.
