Greg Little clawing his way back

Greg Little finished last season as a fantasy football darling. Despite terrible quarterback play and an even worse supporting cast, Little posted impressive marks for the year. Going into 2012, Little appeared to be on the cusp of a breakout season. Unfortunately, he hit a sophomore slump and started dropping passes. Just a few weeks ago, Coach Shurmur was expressing his frustration about Little openly to the media.

With talented rookie Josh Gordon opposite of him, Little has seen less coverages rolled towards him. He has been able to get open underneath – but has still battled some drops.

Greg Little is a sleeper candidate for the remainder of the season. Shurmur and team are playing for their jobs. Last week, they lost the game against Baltimore in large part because Shurmur didn’t trust his quarterback to throw the ball into the end zone twice in a row. Simply put, they played it too safe and they lost. They need to take the handcuffs off and allow their talented young quarterback to throw the ball down the field more frequently.
